The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Agulleiro appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Agulleiro so the Agulleiro or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) PURPLE: Justice, Wit, Truth, Greatness, Wisdom and Love; those who wear this color are obliged to defend the Prince defending ecclesiastical people.

2) GULES: Red color that symbolizes Strength, Victory, Daring and Highness.

3) SABLE: Black color that symbolizes Prudence, Sadness, Rigor, Honesty and Obedience.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* SWAN: The Swan, by the tradition that he sings sweetly when he is about to die, means Ancient Nobility, without stain of any kind, who dies courageously executing glorious undertakings.

* ARROW: The Fess represents Readiness (for battle); if depicted with a cross, represents an affliction.

* IVY: The Ivy symbolizes Love Bond and also Triumph.

* ERMINE: The Ermines symbolize Purity and Fidelity placed at the service of the Prince.

* THISTLE: The Thistle symbolizes in Heraldry a heart nobly humble, but so careful of its honor, that it defends with its sword the luster of its lineage.

* STAG: The Stag symbolizes Effortless Courage, which draws and recovers energy even on the most adverse occasions.

* WINDMILL: The Windmills and their Wheels are a symbol of Obedience, because they face the violence of the current and obey the movement that it prints.

* CHAIN: The Chain generally means Captivity suffered by the defense of the King or the Homeland.
