The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Conquista appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Conquista so the Conquista or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) OR (Gold): Nobility, Magnanimity, Wealth, Power, Light, Constancy and Wisdom.

2) AZURE: Blue color that symbolizes Justice, Zeal, Truth, Loyalty, Charity and Beauty.

3) PURPLE: Justice, Wit, Truth, Greatness, Wisdom and Love; those who wear this color are obliged to defend the Prince defending ecclesiastical people.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* ARROW: The Fess represents Readiness (for battle); if depicted with a cross, represents an affliction.

* THISTLE: The Thistle symbolizes in Heraldry a heart nobly humble, but so careful of its honor, that it defends with its sword the luster of its lineage.

* CABRIO: The Cabrio symbolizes the boots and spurs, and for this reason it was granted as an adornment of the shield to the Knight who was wounded from the combat in his legs.

* TIGER: The Tiger represents Fierceness and Valour; Resentment; Dangerous if aroused.

* BEAR: The Bear is a symbol of Strength and skill in handling weapons against the enemy, achieving Victory.

* KNIGHT: The Knight symbolizes the Nobility.

* GYRON: The Gyron represents Favor.

* KEY: The Keys symbolize Fidelity and Secrecy.
