The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Seaje appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Seaje so the Seaje or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) GULES: Red color that symbolizes Strength, Victory, Daring and Highness.

2) SABLE: Black color that symbolizes Prudence, Sadness, Rigor, Honesty and Obedience.

3) ARGENT (Silver): Purity, Integrity, Obedience, Firmness, Surveillance, Eloquence and Expiration.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* EAGLE: The Eagle is an emblem of Generosity, Magnanimity and Bizarre spirit, that from the greatest heights does not stop monitoring the fulfillment of the least obligations of his position.

* TOWER: The Tower represents the Generosity with which the Knight offers himself at the service of his Country and his King.

* FLEUR-DE-LIS: The Fleur-de-lis represents the Generous Courage that, for received grievances, repeatedly returns benefits, and is a symbol of French heraldry.

* CRANE: The Crane is a symbol of a well-ordered Government under the power of a good boss, who distributes surveillance in turns; it also symbolizes Prudence in the art of governing peoples well.

* BEAR: The Bear is a symbol of Strength and skill in handling weapons against the enemy, achieving Victory.

* DOG: The Dog is a symbol of Faithful Vassal.

* GYRON: The Gyron represents Favor.

* LEBREL: The Lebrels denote Burning and Courage in undertaking dangers, with such decision, that they need to contain their effort. The Boar symbolizes Dauntless and Boldness.
