The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Baticela appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Baticela so the Baticela or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) OR (Gold): Nobility, Magnanimity, Wealth, Power, Light, Constancy and Wisdom.

2) ARGENT (Silver): Purity, Integrity, Obedience, Firmness, Surveillance, Eloquence and Expiration.

3) PURPLE: Justice, Wit, Truth, Greatness, Wisdom and Love; those who wear this color are obliged to defend the Prince defending ecclesiastical people.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* APPLE: The Apple Tree symbolizes the Watchful Heart.

* MALLET: The Mallet indicates War for the damage that it can cause to armor.

* TROUT: The Trout is a symbol of Ardent Spirit in war and Calm and Serene in Peace.

* CRANE: The Crane is a symbol of a well-ordered Government under the power of a good boss, who distributes surveillance in turns; it also symbolizes Prudence in the art of governing peoples well.

* CHAIN: The Chain generally means Captivity suffered by the defense of the King or the Homeland.

* STAR: The Stars symbolize Constancy in the service to the Sovereign in the jobs of Minister or Counselor.

* SEA: The Sea symbolizes a raging and wrathful spirit that does not lose, however, the limits of the obedience that it owes to its sovereign.

* LEOPARD: The Leopard represents the Courageous and Endeavoring Knight who has carried out some daring enterprise using cunning rather than force to complete it.
