The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Sargadelos appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Sargadelos so the Sargadelos or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) SABLE: Black color that symbolizes Prudence, Sadness, Rigor, Honesty and Obedience.

2) PURPLE: Justice, Wit, Truth, Greatness, Wisdom and Love; those who wear this color are obliged to defend the Prince defending ecclesiastical people.

3) GULES: Red color that symbolizes Strength, Victory, Daring and Highness.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* EMPIRE: The Head of the Empire, belonging to Italian heraldry, represents a political alliance with the Ghibelline party (derived from the Hohenstaufen, Lords of Waibling) who were loyal to the Emperor.

* STAR: The Stars symbolize Constancy in the service to the Sovereign in the jobs of Minister or Counselor.

* LAUREL: The Laurel is a symbol of Good Fame, and due to the perpetual greenness of its leaves, of Imperecedera Victoria.

* TOWER: The Tower represents the Generosity with which the Knight offers himself at the service of his Country and his King.

* ROOK: The Rooks symbolize the Captain who defends his fortress.

* CHESS: Chess symbolizes Military Art, for which reason it is usually awarded to soldiers who have exposed their lives in combat.

* YOKE: The Yoke symbolizes Unity.

* FIRE: The Fire is a symbol of Magnanimity, Burning and Promptness in performances or intellectual tasks.
