The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Candaz appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Candaz so the Candaz or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) PURPLE: Justice, Wit, Truth, Greatness, Wisdom and Love; those who wear this color are obliged to defend the Prince defending ecclesiastical people.

* HERON: The Heron represents Prudence in preventing dangers, guarding against them.

* RAVEN: The Raven is a symbol of the Bold and Courageous Spirit that risks itself in defense of its benefactors.

* CHEVRON: The Chevron symbolizes the boots and spurs, and for this reason it was granted as an adornment of the shield to the Knight who was wounded from the combat in his legs.

* ANCHOR: The Anchor is a symbol of Hope, it also means security and constancy, even in the greatest setbacks of fortune.

* ROUNDLE: The Roundles symbolize the bucklers that the soldiers carried as a defensive weapon.

* FIG: The Fig Tree or its leaves symbolize the State Benefactors.
